The completion of the Mount Pleasant Fire Station project included the abatement and demolition of the existing fire hall, followed by the construction of the new facility. The new station is housed within a three level cast-in-place concrete structure, and is complete with offices, sleeping quarters, a communal kitchen space, fitness space, outdoor cantilevered balcony, and an apparatus bay. In addition to the construction of the new station, the implementation and installation of all related emergency and maintenance equipment and systems, including a traditional brass pole along with design-build “fire slides” was completed. The exterior features upscale finishes, including composite metal panels, torch-on roofing, aluminum frames and glazing, and mechanically fastened stone veneer.
