Dawson Wallace was awarded the contract for Valleyview Secondary School Expansion in Kamloops, B.C., which consists of a two-storey, 68,000 SF addition to the existing school, increasing the school’s total size to 139,794 SF. Working together with Station One, the expanded school maximizes available space and provide a more functional, purpose-driven environment, and increased the school’s overall capacity from 675 to 1,200 students. The interior features 20 classrooms, a new gymnasium, multi-purpose areas and innovative education spaces including tech-ed, film studio, computer lab, electronica room, drafting room to the school. It also features dedicated wall space projectors, gender neutral private washrooms and change rooms, and learning and gathering areas both inside and outside the building. The surrounding school grounds feature both soft scape and hard surfaces, including a new roadway to the school.
